Piper on why Calvinists seem like Negative people
Check out below Pastor Piper doing a good job at trying to make sense of Christians who pride themselves of teaching the doctrines of grace but often times are ungracious to those they preach to. I respect Piper for his humble spirit at the end ( seemed like the Holy Spirit convicted him as he was talking) but I think he demonstrated exactly why some come off so negative.
- Calvinists think that Calvinism and Reform Theology is intellectually superior to other theologies
- Calvinists think their system is perfect and cogent
- Calvinists love, and I mean love their system of thought
- Calvinists wants everyone to be Calvinists
I think as long as my Calvinist brothers believe the above points made by Piper, Calvinists will always have a basis for being prideful, arrogant, and negative towards others who they think falls short of their system.

Well, really I want every one to believe in Sovereign Grace due to being persuaded by the Holy Scripture as I was before I ever read John Calvin. I mean that the meaning of can as in “no man can come to me” is clearly proof of inability. When I was a child, I quickly learnd the difference between can and may. Can clearly means ability. So I became convinced as I reflected on “no man CAN come to me” Add to that man’s deadness, depraved nature, darkened nature, blindness, enslavement to sin, subjection to the whims of Satan, and it quickly becomes clear that a SOVEREIGN SUPERNATURAL WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE TO A SINNER IN ORDER FOR THAT SINNER TO BE SAVED. Now, clearly, some sinners require a jolt of a severe nature in order to get the message. I know of one who had such more than 50 years ago. Today he is a professor in a seminary with a Doctorate in Hebrew from Dropsie College. I know of others who were won by the wonder of it all, a wonder that they found irresistible. Ain’t GOD GREAT AND GOOD?

Nice one Cruz. I posted this joint on my facebook. It’s these very reasons I wasn’t feeling Calvinism. However by God’s Grace, I am one today. Some seem to think that subscribing to one doctrine or the other determines your salvation.
